Tigers still control their destiny in quest for 2016 SEC title

COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 25 Mizzou Volleyball (21-5, 12-2 SEC) returns home this weekend from Nov. 18-20 for a pair of key Southeastern Conference matchups. With only four regular season matches remaining, the Tigers still control their destiny for at least a share of the 2016 SEC championship.
Up first, Mizzou hosts Auburn on Friday, Nov. 18, at the Hearnes Center. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 pm (CT) and the match will broadcast live on SEC Network + via WatchESPN.
The Tigers close the weekend on Sunday, Nov. 20, against No. 5 Florida. First serve against the Gators is scheduled for 3 p.m. (CT) and the match will broadcast live on SEC Network. Heading into this weekend, Florida sits atop the SEC standings with a 14-1 conference record. Mizzou trails in the standings by only one game with a 12-2 SEC mark.

- Mizzou leads the all-time series, 7-1.
- Mizzou leads the series in all-time matches played in Columbia, Mo., 3-0.

Fan Promotions at Hearnes
- Prior to both matches this weekend, fans are encouraged to arrive early and attend the popular Kids Karnival, featuring a Bounce House, appearance by Truman the Tiger, Mizzou cheerleaders and more!
- Additionally, following Mizzou's matches against Auburn and Florida, the 2016 Tigers will be on the court autographing this year's team poster.
- Friday evening marks the annual "Gold Rush" game, as fans are encouraged to wear gold while cheering on the Tigers!
- Fans who arrive in gold attire will receive $2 admission.
- The first two sets of the 2016 Mizzou Volleyball playing cards will be distributed to fans prior to Friday's match.
- Sunday afternoon's match against Florida marks the "Tigers Give Thanks Food Drive" at Hearnes.
- Free admission for fans who bring and donate at least three (3) canned food items.
- The third set of the 2016 Mizzou Volleyball playing cards will be distributed to fans prior to Sunday's match.
- Fans in attendance Sunday can also register for a chance to win a turkey for Thanksgiving!
Four Tigers Post 10-Plus Kills at South Carolina
- Mizzou looks to rebound this weekend, after suffering a 3-1 (20-25, 25-23, 24-26, 23-25) loss at South Carolina on Sunday, Nov. 13.
- The Tigers saw four individuals excel on offense with double-digit kills despite the loss.
- Redshirt junior Melanie Crow (17), senior Carly Kan (14), redshirt junior Kira Larson (12) and sophomore Alyssa Munlyn (10) all posted strong offensive numbers against the Gamecocks.
- Kan and Crow each posted double-doubles in the Tigers' loss at South Carolina, marking their 11th and eighth double-double this year, respectively.
- Kan's 11 overall double-doubles this season rank T-5th in the SEC. Additionally, her seven double-doubles in SEC only play ranks T-3rd.
Senior Class on Brink of 100th Victory
- A win Friday evening against Auburn would mark the 100th career win for Mizzou's 2016 senior class (Emily Thater, Julia Towler, Kan and Alexa Ethridge).
- The Tiger senior quartet has already established itself as the winningest senior class in program history, following their win at Tennessee on Nov. 4.
Mizzou Rolling at the Hearnes Center
- Following an uncharacteristic two-match losing streak earlier this season at home (Sept. 2-3), Mizzou has got back on track with seven consecutive victories in the friendly confines of the Hearnes Center (Sept. 3 – present).
- In their past seven matches in Columbia, Mo., the Tigers have outscored their opponents, 21-3.
- Additionally, Mizzou has posted five sweeps amongst its current seven-match home winning streak.
