COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou soccer team (10-4-1, 5-2-1 SEC) continues Southeastern Conference action as the team travels for a pair on road contests. The Tigers face No. 15 Arkansas on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. before a match at Georgia on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. The game against the Bulldogs will be broadcast live on the SEC Network.
TIGER TIDBITS
- Mizzou leads the all-time series with Arkansas 4-3-0 and is 3-1-0 against Georgia.
- The Tigers currently sit fourth in the SEC standings with three games remaining.
- Missouri comes in at No. 32 in this week's RPI.
- In its only game last weekend, Mizzou notched a 2-1 win over Vanderbilt on Oct. 14. The win assured the Tigers a SEC Tournament bid.
- Freshman Sarah Luebbert tallied both goals in the Tigers' win over the Commodores to claim SEC Freshman of the Week honors for the third time this season.
- Luebbert now leads the team with 21 points on nine goals and three assists. Her 21 points are the most for a Mizzou player since Alysha Bonnick had 21 in 2010.
- Luebbert currently ranks tied for third on Mizzou's all-time freshman goal list and fourth on the points list.
- The Tigers have scored 30 goals through 15 games to surpass 2015's full season total of 25.
- Additionally, Mizzou ranks third nationally in shots per game (20.07) and fourth nationally in shots on goal per game (9.13).
- Missouri's defense ranks second in the SEC in both goals allowed (six) and goals agaisnt average (0.72) in conference matches.
- Junior Allie Hess ranks second on the squad with 13 points on six goals and an assist. Hess entered her junior season with only one career goal.
- Sophomore keeper Kelsey Dossey owns a 0.55 GAA and a .818 save percentage in SEC matches, while boasting numbers of 0.97 GAA and .714 save percentage in all games.
- The Tigers are 3-1-1 in overtime matches this season, with wins over Mississippi State, Illinois and Colorado, a tie with Texas A&M and a loss to Iowa.
- Mizzou opened SEC play with a 5-0 win at Ole Miss on Sept. 9. The five goals were the most-ever by the Tigers in an SEC game and the most for the team since a 5-1 win over Pacific on Aug. 23, 2013.
- Mizzou's win over Central Arkansas marked the first time the squad cameback from a 2-0 deficit since a 3-2 win over Kansas on Oct. 21, 2011. In that contest, the Tigers scored two goals in the 85th and one goal in the 89th minute to record the win.
- Three Tigers earned spots on the 2016 SEC Watch List: junior midfielder Kaitlyn Clark, senior midfielder Melanie Donaldson and senior defender Jasmine Johnson. The Tigers were picked to finish sixth in the SEC Preseason Coaches' Poll, released on Aug. 11. Missouri was also selected sixth a year ago before finishing second in the league standings.
