  • Mizzou Men's Basketball (8-14, 1-8) hits the road to face Alabama (12-9, 3-6) on Saturday, Feb. 6, with a 2 p.m. start on SEC Network.
  • Junior guard Wes Clark scored 20 points with the help of a perfect 10-of-10 game at the free throw line vs. Ole Miss (Feb. 3), marking the fourth time this season he has had 20+ points.
  • The Tigers dropped a heartbreaker to the Rebels, leading by 4 points with 1:05 left in the game to ultimately lose 76-73.
  • Freshman guard Terrence Phillips has produced for Mizzou over its last five games, averaging a team-best 10.6 points, 3.0 assists and 2.4 steals per game.
  • Head coach Kim Anderson's squad is seeking its second SEC win of the season after the 76-61 victory over Auburn (Jan. 9).
  • Freshman forward Kevin Puryear leads the Tigers in scoring in overall games this season with his 10.9 points per game.
  • Junior guard Wes Clark leads the Tigers in scoring in conference games with his 11.3 points per game.

Last Time Out

  • Mizzou (8-14, 1-8) dropped a hard-fought game to Ole Miss (14-8, 4-5), falling by a score of 76-73 on Thursday, Feb. 3, at Mizzou Arena. The Tigers led by four points with 1:05 left in the game after a jumper by junior guard Wes Clark, who finished with 20 points for his fourth game this season with 20 points or more.
  • The Tigers connected on a season-high 10 three-pointers in the game, led by three from both freshman guard Terrence Phillips and sophomore guard Namon Wright.
  • As a team, Mizzou snagged 12 steals in the game, matching a season-high which was previously set on Dec. 29, 2015, against Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
  • Phillips had a season-high five steals in the game, the eighth time this season he has had multiple steals.
  • Freshman guard Cullen VanLeer scored 10 points in the game, the third time this season he has reached double digits and the first time since scoring 12 points against NC State on Dec. 12, 2015.

Clark Very Charitable

  • Junior guard Wes Clark was impressive at the free throw line vs. Ole Miss (Feb. 3), sinking a perfect 10-of-10 from the charity stripe en route to 20 points.
  • Clark's performance was especially significant, as he was the first Tiger to shoot perfectly from the free throw line with a minimum of 10 attempts since the 2013-14 season. Jordan Clarkson hit 11-of-11 vs. Vanderbilt on Feb. 19, 2014, while Jabari Brown made 10-of-10 vs. UCLA on Dec. 7, 2013.

Puryear Standing Out Among Mizzou Freshmen, All-Time

  • After Mizzou freshman Kevin Puryear's next four rebounds, the Tiger newcomer will join an exclusive group of Tiger freshmen. Currently at 96 rebounds, Puryear can become the 12th freshman in program history to record a 200-point, 100-rebound debut season.
  • Puryear would be just the second Mizzou freshman in 12 seasons to accomplish the feat. As a freshman in 2013-14, forward Johnathan Williams III recorded 204 points and 227 rebounds.
  • Since the 1993-94 season, only four Mizzou freshmen have posted at least 200 points and 100 rebounds in a season.

More About Alabama

  • Alabama (12-9, 3-6) enters its game vs. Mizzou having one two of its last three SEC games, including a road win at Mississippi State (Feb. 2) in its most recent action, 82-80 in overtime.
  • The Crimson Tide also picked up a home win vs. Tennessee (Jan. 26), 63-57, to halt a three-game skin in conference.
  • Two Alabama players have averaged double digits in scoring, led by graduate guard Retin Obasohan's 16.0 points per game. Obasohan is followed by 11.3 points per game from junior forward Shannon Hale. The Crimson Tide duo also lead the squad in conference game scoring with averages of 19.4 and 10.9 points, respectively.

Wright Went to Boarding School

  • No Tiger has improved on the glass like sophomore guard Namon Wright, who narrowly missed his first career double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds against Mississippi State (Jan. 30). The nine boards were a career-high.
  • Wright followed up his nine-board game against the Bulldogs with eight rebounds vs. Ole Miss (Feb. 3). He has snagged five or more rebounds in four of the last five games.
  • Wright, averaging 4.8 rebounds per game this season, has more than doubled his rebounds-per-game average from his freshman campaign (2.3). The Tiger has 106 rebounds through 22 games after securing 69 in 30 games last season.

Steal Our Hearts, Terrence

  • There is a lot to love about freshman guard Terrence Phillips' aggressive style of play, especially on the defensive end. His 34 steals over Mizzou's 22 games leads the squad.
  • Phillips put forth a defensive gem vs. Ole Miss (Feb. 3), recording a season-high five steals.
  • Phillips' 2.0 steals per game in Southeastern Conference action ranks first in the league among freshman and tied for second overall. In overall games, Phillips' 1.5 steals-per-game average ranks sixth in the conference.

Freshmen Focus at the Free Throw Line

  • Three Mizzou freshmen currently hold strong marks at the free throw line in conference action. Guard K.J. Walton, forward Kevin Puryear and guard Terrence Phillips are shooting 85.7 percent (12-of-14), 84.8 percent (28-of-33) and 80.0 percent (20-of-25), respectively.
  • Mizzou is the only school in the conference with three freshmen shooting 80.0 percent or better from the free throw line in conference action.
