
Tigers Fall To Visiting No. 6 Georgia, 6-0

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou tennis continued SEC action Sunday afternoon at Mizzou Tennis Complex against visiting No. 6 Georgia. The visiting Bulldogs trotted out five nationally ranked players in singles play, and proved to be too much for the Tigers.
Georgia jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with straight set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles action. The Bulldogs again took straight set wins at No. 5 and No. 6 play to secure the overall match victory.
Mizzou and Georgia later completed the last two singles matches despite the overall match being clinched. At No. 4 play, sophomore Brittany Lashway had the best success among Mizzou players, as she responded with a strong showing in her second set. Lashway took five games in the second set, but ultimately fell 7-5 to her opponent.
The Tigers conclude their home 2014-15 schedule next weekend in Columbia, Mo. with visits from No. 15 Texas A&M and No. 41 LSU. Mizzou and the Aggies compete on Friday, April 3 at 5 p.m. (CT), and first serve on Sunday, April 5 against LSU is scheduled for 12 p.m. (CT).
