Mizzou To Participate in 2015 CBE Hall of Fame Classic

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Mizzou Men's Basketball will join North Carolina, Kansas State and Northwestern for the championship rounds of the 2015 CBE Hall of Fame Classic November 23 and 24 at Sprint Center. The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the field today.
The semifinal rounds will be held on Monday, November 23. The finals will take place the following day, Tuesday, November 24, beginning with the consolation game, followed by the championship game. All four games will be aired on the ESPN networks.
Tickets for the championship round games at Sprint Center will be available beginning Friday, March 20th at 10:00am CST through www.axs.com, www.cbehalloffameclassic.com, by phone at 1-888-929-7849 or in person at Sprint Center Box Office.
The complete bracket, including matchups and television broadcast times for the 2015 CBE Hall of Fame Classic, will be announced at a later date.

Missouri- Led by sophomore forward Johnathan Williams III, averaging double figures in scoring... Tigers Head Coach Kim Anderson, in his 1st season in Columbia, had this to say about playing in the CBE Hall of Fame Classic: "It's an honor for our Missouri program to be a part of the 2015 CBE Hall of Fame Classic. It's a great grouping of schools that are involved. The CBE is an excellent chance to play in Kansas City, where we have so many loyal Tiger fans. It will also be a great road trip for our fans from around the state and nation."
Kansas State - The Wildcats currently sport a 13-13 record and are 6-7 in the ultra- competitive Big 12 Conference.... Led by sophomore guard Marcus Foster, who averages a team-high 14 ppg .... Bruce Weber, Head Coach of the Wildcats, stated: "We are extremely excited about the opportunity to play in the CBE Classic this fall. The challenge of playing programs like Missouri, North Carolina and Northwestern in a world-class venue like the Sprint Center will provide our team a great warm-up for the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship later in the year. Obviously, we have a tremendous fan base in Kansas City and this will be another occasion for them to again pack the building with purple."
North Carolina- Ranked in the top 15 in the country with an overall record of 18-7..... Currently tied for fourth place in the always-challenging ACC at 8-4.... Led by junior guard Marcus Paige, sophomore forward Kennedy Meeks and junior forward Brice Johnson, all averaging over 12 ppg.... Hall of Fame coach Roy Williams, who owns a record of 324-95 as Head Coach of the Tar Heels, said: "Kansas City is home to outstanding sports traditions and I am proud to be bringing our Tar Heel team to the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. Carolina won its first NCAA Tournament championship in Kansas City and I've been fortunate to experience many wonderful moments there as a college coach. It's a great venue for college basketball and the event will be an outstanding challenge for our team early next season."
Northwestern- Going through a challenging 2014-15 season with an overall record of 11-14, including 2-10 in Big Ten play.... Scheduled to return their top three scorers, Bryant McIntosh, Tre Demps, and Alex Olah, all averaging double figures... Coach Chris Collins, in his 2nd year at the helm at Northwestern, had this to say about participating in the 2015 CBE Hall of Fame Classic: "Northwestern is extremely excited to participate in what should be an outstanding CBE Hall of Fame Classic next season. We're thrilled to be a part of such a challenging field that will test our team. It's a tremendous opportunity to compete in what should be one of the top in-season tournaments in a great city like Kansas City."

The event is named after the College Basketball Experience, the award-winning and highly interactive college basketball fan facility adjacent to Sprint Center, which also features the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. Opened in October 2007, the College Basketball Experience is the nation's only facility that celebrates, in its entirety, the sport of men's collegiate basketball. The tournament, in partnership with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), was initially established in 2001 as the Guardians Classic.
