#MIZvsBYU Post-Game Notes

Mizzou Team Notes

  • With the win, Mizzou tied the all-time series against BYU, 1-1. BYU defeated Mizzou at the Holiday Bowl in San Diego in 1983, 21-17.
  • With the win, Mizzou improves to 6-1 at Arrowhead Stadium and 12-1 in NFL stadiums under Gary Pinkel.
  • Mizzou recorded 434 yards on offense, the second-highest amount on the season and the highest total of the season and since also gaining 434 yards against Minnesota in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1, 2015.
  • Mizzou scored touchdowns on back-to-back drives in the 4th quarter, the first time Mizzou has scored on back-to-back drives since Arkansas State on Sept. 12. All four of Mizzou's scores in the game came within the redzone (two touchdowns and two field goals), matching the team's season high for scores in the redzone this season. Mizzou scored from the redzone four times against South Carolina on Oct. 3.

Mizzou Offense Notes

  • The Mizzou offense went a season best 13-of-20 (65 percent) on 3rd downs in the game. The team's previous high was 9-of-16 (56.2 percent) against South Carolina on Oct. 2.
  • Freshman QB Drew Lock passed for 244 yards in the game, surpassing his previous career high of 151 yards vs. Florida on Oct. 10.
  • Russell Hansbrough's 117 rushing yards on 26 carries are both season highs, his previous highs this season was 16 carries and 62 yards vs. Mississippi State.
  • Mizzou totaled 128 yards of total offense in the first quarter, its best first-quarter total of the season. It was also the second-best yard margin in the first quarter by Mizzou this season (the best was +107 vs. SEMO in the season-opener.)
  • Mizzou's 18-play, 6:29 scoring drive in the second quarter was Mizzou's longest by plays this season (previous was 15 plays vs. UConn) and it was the second-longest scoring drive by time this season (the same 15-play drive vs. UConn went 6:34).
  • Mizzou WR J'Mon Moore hauled in a 25-yard pass in the first quarter, his longest since hauling in a 32-yarder against Florida on Oct. 10, a span of four games.
  • Mizzou RB Ish Witter fumbled on a run play in the first quarter and the fumble was recovered by BYU. It was the first fumble lost by the Mizzou offense in 590 plays from scrimmage in 2015.
  • Mizzou freshman WR Cam Hilton tallied a 15-yard grab in the first quarter, his longest catch since a 29-yard grab at Georgia on Oct. 17.
  • Mizzou RB Ish Witter's 18-yard run in the first quarter was his longest run since UConn on Sept. 19 when he had a 20-yard run.
  • Senior Tyler Hunt scored a 1-yard rushing touchdown in the 4th quarter to increase Mizzou's lead to 20-10, the first career rushing TD of his career.

Mizzou Defense Notes

  • The Tiger defense allowed only 46 yards rushing to BYU in the game, the lowest opponent output of the season.
  • Senior LB Kentrell Brothers recorded 11 tackles in the game, the ninth time in 10 games he has recorded double-digit tackles this season.
  • Brothers also recorded the first fumble recovery of his career. Junior DL Marcell Frazier recorded a sack and a forced fumble in the 4th quarter. The forced fumble was the first of Frazier's career. The sack was the second of his career, the first coming against South Carolina on Oct. 3.
