Mizzou Women Conclude Competition at Tiger Invite

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou women's swimming team concluded competition at the two-day Tiger Invite on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The meet was the Tigers' final action until the 2015 Southeastern Conference Championships, Feb. 17-21, in Auburn, Ala.
Junior Anna Patterson and freshmen Hannah Stevens and Kira Zubar all were double winners for the Tigers during the two days.
Patterson took first in the 50 free (22.95) and 100 fly (55.08), while Stevens won both the 100 free (personal best 50.21) and 200 back (1:54.42). Zubar had a personal best in the 1650 free (16:30.47) to take the win, as well as place first in the 500 free (4:52.54).
In the 200 fly, freshman Erin Metzger-Seymour raced to victory after a time of 1:59.27. The swim was good enough to jump her to fourth all-time at Mizzou in the event.
Another freshman, Sharli Brady, took home top honors in the 200 free. Brady's time of 1:47.29 jumped her from well outside Missouri's top-10 to eighth all-time at Mizzou.
Seniors Liza Poskin and Danielle Spradlin also picked up wins during the meet. Poskin took first in the 100 breast in a time of 1:04.36, while Spradlin won the 200 breast in 2:14.31.
