@MizzouSoccer Hosts No. 9 Auburn Friday to Open SEC Play

The Mizzou soccer team (2-1-3) officially open Southeastern Conference action on Friday, Sept. 11 as the team hosts No. 9 Auburn at 6:30 p.m. at Walton Stadium. Missouri then returns to the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 13 to close non-conference play against Nebraska at 1 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast live on SEC Network + with Ben Arnet and Simon Rose on the call.

TIGER TIDBITS

  • Mizzou is 2-1-3 on the season after a pair of 0-0 double-overtime draws against Oregon State and Northwestern last weekend.
  • The Tigers have posted shutouts in three of their six matches this year.
  • The last three and four of the last five Mizzou matches have gone to double-overtime. The Tigers are 1-0-3 in those games. 
  • Freshman keeper Kelsey Dossey boasts a 0.37 goals against average and a 0.875 save percentage in 514 minutes of action. 
  • Auburn enters the weekend ranked ninth nationally with a perfect 6-0-0 mark.
  • Auburn has not allowed a goal all season while scoring 11 of its own. 
  • 2015 marks the 20th season of Mizzou soccer, as the program started in 1996 under the direction of current Head Coach Bryan Blitz. Blitz and the Tigers own identical 210-166-28 records in 20 seasons. 
  • Eight starters are back for Mizzou in 2015 from the 2014 squad that went 12-7-3 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
