COLUMBIA, Mo. - Former Mizzou swimmer Dominique Bouchard was named to the 2015 Canadian FINA World Championships and Pan Am Games teams, Swimming Canada announced on Saturday (April 4). She was selected for the teams based on her performance at the Canadian Swimming Trials in Toronto last week.
The Pan Am Games team features a roster of 18 men and 18 women, while the Worlds team is comprised of just 24 swimmers total. The 2015 Pan Am Games will take place July 10-26 in Toronto, Canada, and the 2015 FINA World Championships will be held in Kazan, Russia, on July 24-August 9.
At the trials, Bouchard, who concluded her decorated Tiger career in 2013, swept both the 100 and 200 backstrokes in upset victories over 2012 Olympian Hilary Caldwell. Her time in the 100 back of 1:00.20 is tied for the sixth-fastest in the world this year. She also posted 2:09.05 to capture the gold in the 200 back at the trials, while her time of 2:08.99 back in February ranks third in the world this year.
An eight-time All-American for Mizzou, including four first team honors, Bouchard was the NCAA Championships 200 back runner-up in 2011 and 2013 and placed third at NCAAs in 2012. The North Bay, Ontario, native holds Missouri's 100 back (52.02) and 200 back (1:50.06) marks.
