Mizzou Soccer Opens Spring Season Saturday Against FCKC, Chicago Red Stars

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou soccer team officially opens its spring season on Saturday, April 4 when the Tigers take on the National Women's Soccer League's FC Kansas City and the Chicago Red Stars in shortened games at Lou Fusz Park in St. Louis. Missouri plays against FCKC and former Tigers Kaysie Clark and Dominique Richardson at 10 a.m. before an 11 a.m. match against the Red Stars.

"We've played NWSL teams since their league was developed," Head Coach Bryan Blitz said. "It is a great learning experience for both our players and our staff. What makes it special for us this year is that we are playing against two alumna, Kaysie Clark, who was drafted by FCKC this year, and Dominique Richardson, who is also with FCKC."

Following Saturday's games, the Tigers will attend the U.S. Women's National Team's international friendly with New Zealand at 2 p.m. that day at Busch Stadium. The match also serves as a homecoming for Missouri head team manager Ryan Dell, who is working with the WNT as an assistant equipment manager.

On Saturday, April 11, Mizzou returns to spring soccer action with a Noon match against Oklahoma State at Swope Park in Kansas City.
