Frericks Earns SEC Player of the Week Honors

March 2, 2015

Birmingham, Ala. --Sophomore Jordan Frericks has been named SEC Player of the Week, as announced Monday (March 2) by the league office. The award comes after an outstanding week for the Quincy, Ill., native. Averaging 17.5 points and eight rebounds per game, Frericks helped lead the Tigers to wins over No. 12 Texas A&M and Arkansas. The honor is the first for Frericks in her career and the first for any Tiger this season.

Frericks was a major asset in the Tigers' upset of Texas A&M, she tallied 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the game, earning her 11th double-double of the season, a number that ranks her second in Mizzou history, dating back to the 1993-94 season. Her 25 points in the game were just two shy of her career-best, and mark her 20th double-figure scoring game this year.

Frericks didn't stop there, however, despite getting in early foul trouble, the sophomore forward again put up double figures. In the first half of the game, she knocked down one more shot than the entire Arkansas team.

Frericks and the Tigers will head to Little Rock, Ark., for the SEC tournament this week. As the No. 7 seed, the Tigers are set to face No. 10 Georgia at 6 p.m. on March 5. Keep checking in to MUTigers.com for more information on Mizzou Women's Basketball.
