Softball Set for Black and Gold Scrimmage

Feb. 6, 2015

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou softball squad will play its annual Black and Gold game on Saturday. The intersquad scrimmage will be outside at University Field with first pitch moved to 2 p.m. Admission is free for all students and the general public. An autograph session with the players will immediately follow the conclusion of the scrimmage.

The Tigers finished up the 2014 campaign with a 43-18 mark, clinching an NCAA Tournament berth for the eighth consecutive season. Mizzou returns eight starters from the batting lineup used in last season's NCAA Regional and sophomore pitcher Tori Finucane (Germantown, Md.) returns to the circle.

MIzzou enters the 2015 season ranked No. 17 in both the NFCA/USA Today poll and ESPN/USA Softball poll. The Tigers have been a preseason Top 25 squad every year since 2009. Head coach Ehren Earleywine's team officially begins its campaign at the Dot Richardson Invitational in Clermont, Fla., next week. The Tigers take on Louisville at 10 a.m. CT on Feb. 13 to open their season.

Season tickets for Mizzou's 19 home games are still available, starting at just $35. In 2015, season ticket holders will receive a free reusable cup for discounted concession drinks. The Tigers open up their home slate on March 11 with a doubleheader against Southeast Missouri State.
