TWEETABLE TIGER TRACKS...
• Mizzou Men's Basketball (6-7) starts Southeastern Conference action at home with LSU (11-2) on Thursday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
• The Tigers have been led by sophomore forward Johnathan Williams, III, who has averaged 17.1 points and 9.0 rebounds over the last seven games.
• Williams entered his sophomore season with a scoring average of 5.8 points per game and has vaulted past that mark with his current 13.5.
• Head coach Kim Anderson's squad defeated Lipscomb (Jan. 3), 72-60. Three Tigers scored 10+ (Williams, 16; Shamburger, 15; Isabell, 14).
• The scoring effort from Isabell was a season-best for the Tiger freshman, coming in 23 minutes off the bench with 4-of-8 FG shooting.
• Mizzou's freshman class has accounted for 38.1 percent of the team's minutes through 13 games.
• With the addition of sophomores, underclassmen have been playing 65.5 percent of the Tigers' minutes.
LAST TIME OUT...
• Mizzou (6-7) pushed past Lipscomb, 72-60, on Saturday (Jan. 3) to round out non-conference action. Sophomore Johnathan Williams, III tossed in a team-high 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to record his fifth career double-double.
• Williams has notched at least 15 points and eight rebounds in seven consecutive games.
• Mizzou closed the opening frame of action on a 14-5 run and 13 of those 14 points in that span were bench points.
• The Tigers used 30 points from its bench to wear out Lipscomb with a balanced attack. Keanau Post provided a crucial spark in 14 minutes of action. The senior notched seven points and pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds.
• Mizzou limited Lipscomb to just 32.2 shooting, their best defensive performance of the season, topping the previous best of 32.6 against Valparaiso on Nov. 16. It is the fourth time this season that Mizzou has held its opponent to worse than 40-percent shooting.
A LOOK AT THE OPPONENT... LSU
• LSU comes into its conference opener at Mizzou with an 11-2 record, including 2-0 mark on the road. Led by head coach Johnny Jones, LSU posted a 2-1 mark against high major competition during its non-conference schedule.
• LSU defeated Texas Tech in overtime, 69-64, at home on Nov. 18, before falling to Clemson in the Virgin Islands by a score of 64-61 on Nov. 24. In road action, LSU turned away West Virginia, 74-73, on Dec. 4.
• Jones' squad is led in scoring by sophomore forward Jarell Martin's 18.2 points per game, followed by sophomore forward Jordan Mickey's 16.3 points per game. Mickey also leads the team in rebounds with his 10.3 average.
• LSU's offensive looks have been dictated by two guard this season, with junior college transfer guard Josh Gray accumulating a team-best 54 assists. Sophomore guard Tim Quarterman trails Gray with 45 dimes.
• LSU leads the all-time series vs. Mizzou, 3-1. The two programs have battled in tight contests since Mizzou joined the SEC. Mizzou claimed a victory at home on March 2, 2013, winning 89-76. LSU won the most recent meeting, edging Mizzou 77-71 in Baton Rouge, La., on Jan. 21, 2014.

• Mizzou head coach Kim Anderson is competing with 47 other NCAA Division I men's basketball coaches for a great cause: a $100,000 donation to charity. Anderson is representing Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbia, Missouri, in the Infiniti Coaches' Charity Challenge, which is a four-round contest driven by online fan voting.
• Mizzou fans and those wishing to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbia, Missouri, can vote for Anderson at www.espn.com/infiniti.
• As an official corporate partner of the NCAA, Infiniti will make total donations throughout the competition of $349,000. As coaches advance throughout the competition, donations totaling $249,000 will be awarded to each of their charities of choice; the farther they advance, the more money the coaches raise. The final winning coach will receive a total of $100,000 to benefit his charity of choice.
• The initial round runs from Jan. 5 - Jan. 25, with the second round of voting cutting the field to 24 coaches.
