Mizzou Closes Non-Conference Schedule with Lipscomb on Saturday

TWEETABLE TIGER TRACKS...
• Mizzou Men's Basketball (5-7) returns home to Mizzou Arena to close its non-conference schedule vs. Lipscomb on Saturday, Jan. 3, at 4 p.m.
• Saturday's game will have a #MizzouMade commentator crew on the SEC Network, with Missouri graduates Tom Hart and Jon Sundvold on the call.
• Mizzou's freshmen and sophomores have played 64.9 percent (1,576) of the team's total minutes thus far.
• Gill-Caesar (343), Allen (193), Wright (179), Isabell (149) and Gant (53) account for 37.8 percent.
• The Tigers were pulled into overtime vs. Oklahoma State in Kansas City, Mo., by a buzzer-beating, game-tying 3-pointer by Tramaine Isabell.
• The freshman Isabell's triple tied the game at 62-62 with just 0.2 seconds left in regulation, although Mizzou eventually fell 74-72.
• Mizzou has played Lipscomb just once in program history, with the Tigers taking down the Bisons by a score of 89-69 on Nov. 16, 2006.

LAST TIME OUT...
• After sending the game to overtime behind a game-tying three from freshman guard Tramaine Isabell in regulation, Mizzou (5-7) fell just short in the extra period as Oklahoma State (9-2) walked away with a 74-72 victory on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the Sprint Center.
• Mizzou held Oklahoma State to 24 first half points, which tied the Cowboys' first frame low (also against South Carolina on Dec. 6).
• Sophomore forward Johnathan Williams, III scored a career-high 22 points to tally double figures for the 10th time this year and the sixth consecutive game. His previous best was 18, which he scored against SEMO on Dec. 2.
• Williams, III is now averaging 17.3 ppg over the last six contests.
• Freshman guard Montaque Gill-Caesar finished with 15 points for his eighth double digit scoring output of the year.
• Senior guard Keith Shamburger tied a season best with five assists. He also recorded five dimes against Chaminade (Nov. 26) and Elon (Dec. 11).
• Freshman forward Jakeenan Gant earned his first career start against the Cowboys.

A LOOK AT THE OPPONENT... LIPSCOMB
• Lipscomb, led by second-year head coach Casey Alexander, has played to a 5-8 overall record in 2014-15. The Bisons have lost three of their last four games after winning two in a row vs. Tennessee State (77-68, Dec. 6) and at Austin Peay (68-59, Dec. 13). Lipscomb's lone win in the last four contests was in Austin Peay's return game to Allen Arena in Nashville, Tenn., a game that the Bisons claimed by a score of 69-63 on Dec. 21.
• The Bisons have taken on another Southeastern Conference school already this season, battling Vanderbilt on the road on Nov. 20, but eventually falling by a score of 72-62. Among other major conference competition, Lipscomb has dropped games at Colorado (84-75, Nov. 30) and at No. 9 Texas (106-61, Dec. 16).
• Lipscomb's leading scorer, Josh Williams, averages 10.5 field goal attempts per game en route to his 14.6 points per game average. Williams' 137 shot attempts to this point in the season is 18 percent of his squad's total shots.
• Williams is a do-it-all guard for Lipscomb, as he also leads his squad in rebounds (68) and steals (16). His 24 offensive rebounds are matched by teammate Talbott Denny.

GLANCING AHEAD...
• Following Mizzou's Jan. 3 game vs. Lipscomb, which is the Tigers' final non-conference game of the season, head coach Kim Anderson's group will open Southeastern Conference play at home vs. LSU on Thursday, Jan. 8. The game is slated for a 6 p.m. tip-off on ESPN2.
• LSU leads the all-time series vs. Mizzou, 3-1. Mizzou has met LSU three times as members of the SEC, with the Black & Gold-clad Tigers earning an 89-76 victory at home on March 2, 2013.
• Mizzou will continue SEC play at Auburn on Saturday, Jan. 10 (6 p.m.). Fans are encouraged to catch the action on the SEC Network.
