Team
- With Mizzou's 21-20 victory at No. 13 South Carolina, the Tigers have won seven consecutive road games. Mizzou went 5-0 on the road in 2013 and won its first away contest of 2014 at Toledo, 49-24.
- Mizzou's last road victory over a Top 15-ranked opponent was the win at No. 7 Georgia last season (Oct. 12, 2013). The Tigers' last downed a ranked opponent during regular season action with the 28-21 win vs. No. 19 Texas A&M (Nov. 30, 2013).
- The win also improved head coach Gary Pinkel's record vs. South Carolina to 2-2.
- With the win, Mizzou has claimed its Southeastern Conference opener for the second-straight season. The Tigers won 51-28 at Vanderbilt in 2013.
- Mizzou scored on its opening drive of the game for the third time this season, moving 42 yards down the field on four plays in 1:04. The drive was capped with an 18-yard rush by junior TB Russell Hansbrough.
Individual Offense
- Senior WR Bud Sasser led Mizzou in receiving yards for the fourth-straight game with his 86 yards on six catches at South Carolina. It was additionally his third-straight game leading the squad in receptions.
- Junior TB Russell Hansbrough scored three rushing touchdowns, the most in a single game of his career. Hansbrough rushed 10 times for 43 yards with the trio of scores.
- Senior TB Marcus Murphy racked up a career-best rushing total with his 98 yards on the ground (16 att.). His 16 rushing attempts tied a career high.
- Sophomore QB Maty Mauk reeled off a 25-yard run in 4Q action, his longest rush of the season.
Individual Defense
- Junior DE Shane Ray notched his third 2.0-sack game of 2014 with his two stops behind the line for 14 yards lost. His 8.0 sacks this season is tied for eighth all-time on Mizzou's single season chart.
- Ray brought in eight total tackles in the game to reset his career best in that category.
- Senior DL Matt Hoch recorded his first sack of the 2014 season, a 12-yard loss near the beginning of 2Q action. The 12 yards lost marked the most yards lost on a sack in Hoch's career.
- Sophomore DL Harold Brantley recorded the first sack of his Mizzou career to help hold South Carolina to a field goal in 3Q action. Brantley brought down USC QB Dylan Thompson for 11 yards and the Gamecocks hit on a field goal try from 41 yards out at 6:38.
- Junior LB Kentrell Brothers led Mizzou with 10 tackles. The performance tied his career-high in stops, with the defender also making 10 tackles in the 2013 win at Georgia.
- Brothers also made a career-best 2.0 tackles-for-loss amongst his 10 stops. He additionally tied his career-high with two PBUs.
- Sophomore LB Michael Scherer recorded nine tackles in the Tigers' winning effort. He has made at least nine tackles in every game this season.
Individual Special Teams
- Senior P Christian Brinser punted a career-high 10 times for 420 yards, averaging 42.0 yards per punt. Brinser unleashed two 50+ yard punts, matching his previous-best game performance for the sixth time.
