Molly Kreklow made the preliminary USAVB FIVB World Championship roster.
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Former Mizzou All-American setter Molly Kreklow (Delano, Minn.) was one of 22 players to make the USA Volleyball (USAVB) World Championship roster, as announced by USA Volleyball on Friday (Aug. 29). USAVB will compete in the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) World Championships from Sept. 23-Oct. 12 this year in six Italian cities. The final will be held in Milan.
"This is huge for Molly," Mizzou head coach Wayne Kreklow said. "After coaching her for four years, we know how good she is and the potential that she has. Having our program represented at the FIVB World Championships is tremendous and we wish Molly a long career with USA Volleyball."
The 22-person roster will be cut to a smaller travel roster after several weeks of training. Kreklow was one of four setters selected to the team. Kreklow helped USAVB to a Silver Medal at the NORCECA Championships earlier this year and is the first Tiger to train extensively since current assistant Lindsey James (Hunter) and Tatum Ailes in 2008.
