Mizzou
- With the 6-3 win today, Mizzou now holds a 65-43 all-time record vs. Kansas.
- Redshirt sophomore Taylor Gadbois' third inning single was her 81st hit of the 2014 campaign. The 81 hits ties her with Mary Babb ('95) for third-place on the MU all-time season hits list.
- Freshman starting pitcher Casey Stangel went the distance for Mizzou, as she limited Kansas to three runs (one earned) over 7.0 innings of work. It was Stangel's 13th complete game of the year, and she improved her W-L record to 15-9 overall.
- Freshman Kirsten Mack launched a second inning two-run home run to kick off Mizzou's scoring Saturday afternoon. It was Mack's third long ball of the 2014 season, and her first since Mar. 23 against UMKC.
- With 12 putouts at first base, junior Kelsea Roth now has 1,017 putouts during her Tigers career. The mark ranks her sixth most putouts in program history.
- Sophomore Emily Crane picked up her 17th stolen base of the year in the first inning, which improved her success rate to an outstanding 94.4-percent (17-of-18).
- Senior Mackenzie Sykes laced a double to left in the second inning and then added another double in the fifth. The pair of doubles marked her team-leading 11th and 12th doubles of the year.
- Gadbois swiped a stolen base in the third inning, increasing her season total to a whopping 46 (out of 51 attempts, 90.2-percent success rate).
- Junior Angela Randazzo drove in Gadbois in the third for an RBI single and later launched a two-run shot in the fifth inning (seventh of the season), giving her 40 RBI this year for the Tigers (third most on MU).
- Sophomore Sami Fagan, junior Corrin Genovese, Randazzo, Crane, and Sykes each tallied multi-hit efforts for the Tigers. It marked their 21st, 16th, 16th, 15th, and 13th multi-hit games of the year, respectively.
- Mack (2 RBI) and Randazzo (3 RBI) were responsible for all but one of Mizzou's run production against the Jayhawks, as it was Mack's fifth multi-RBI game of 2014 and Randazzo's 12th multi-RBI game of the year.
Kansas
- This weekend's NCAA Columbia Regional marks the Jayhawks first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2006 and the team's 12th all-time postseason trip.
- With a 2-for-4 day at the plate, junior Maddie Stein picked up her team leading 20th multi-hit game of the year. It also marked the 50th all-time multi-hit game of her career.
- Sophomore Chaley Brickey was responsible for all the Kansas offense against the Tigers Saturday afternoon. In the fifth inning, she drove home freshman Taylor McElhaney with a fielder's choice groundout, and then added a two-run home run to left in the seventh inning.
- Brickey's two-run shot off Mizzou's Casey Stangel was her team leading 12th home run of the season, and upped her season RBI total to 41 (also tops among Jayhawks hitters).
