Game Two Game Notes

Eric Anderson recorded a single in the first frame and induced two walks in the sixth and eighth innings respectively. The fifth-year senior has now reached based safely in 11 consecutive games. He has served as the Tigers' leadoff hitter for the last nine outings, batting a sizzling .361 over that span.

Anderson also flashed his skills on the mound. In just his third start of the season and first in SEC play, he posted a career-high eight strikeouts and held Tennessee to just one run through six innings of work.

Senior catcher Dylan Kelly ripped an RBI single in the first inning after a 10-pitch at bat, grabbing his 10th RBI of the season. Kelly leads the squad with a .373 batting average.

Saturday's defeat was the first time Missouri lost after scoring in the first inning. Kelly's RBI knock marked the sixth time in nine games the Tigers pushed a runner across the plate in the initial frame.

Relief pitcher Austin Tribby sat down two in order in the top of the seventh inning, notching his 11th strikeout of the season. The sophomore has a 0.00 ERA through 12 appearances in 2014.

Junior pitcher Keaton Steele allowed three earned runs in one frame on the bump. It was the first time Steele gave up an earned run in 16.1 innings. That tied Brett Graves for the longest stretch on the team.

Freshman Ryan Howard blooped a pinch-hit single to right in the bottom of the eighth. Howard went 2-for-3 in three plate appearances during Saturday's doubleheader.
