
Mizzou Concludes Fall Season at Jim West

Columbia, Mo. - Sophomore Jess Meek and freshman Clara Young earned top-20 finishes at the Jim West Challenge in San Antonio, Texas on Monday (Nov. 3). Meek and Young shot 8-over par and 10-over par, respectively to lead the Tigers in the tournament. As a team, Mizzou earned a 7th place finish, scoring 301-308-311--920 (+56) through three rounds of play. Texas A&M (+22), Houston (+28) and Texas Tech (+29) made up the top three finishing teams in the tournament, which was played at the 6,234-yard, Par 72 course at Tapatio Springs Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas.
Meek tallied four birdies in the third round of play to secure a 10th place finish. The Carnoustie, Scotland, native shot 73-75-76--224 through three rounds of play. Fellow Scotland native, Young, was not far behind as she shot 75-74-77--226 to conclude her first fall season with the Tigers.
Senior Alina Rogers was also among the tournament's top finishers as she placed 33rd overall with a tally 17-over par. Junior Kat Hepler finished the tournament 23-over par to place 55th, while senior Laura Kraft shot 81-86-79--246 at the two-day event. Competing individually, Haelena Schwemmer closed the tournament 34-over par.
The full tournament field consisted of 12 teams including Texas State, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kent State, Houston, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Iowa, Texas Tech and East Carolina.
