Mizzou Swimming and Diving Picks Up Three Dual Victories at Kentucky Quad Meet

The Mizzou women's swimming and diving team picked up three dual victories over Kentucky (199.00-154.00), Northwestern (222.00, 131.00) and Southern Illinois (261.00-92.00) at a quad meet in Lexington, Ky., this weekend. The Tigers improve to 2-0 in Southeastern Conference play after taking down Arkansas earlier in the season. Mizzou is now 5-0 in dual action overall.

Sophomore Katharine Ross, freshman Hannah Stevens and senior Danielle Spradlin all recorded two event wins.

Ross won the 200 IM, clocking the team's season-best time in the event with a 2:01.64. Two events later, Ross led a Tiger sweep in the 100 breast with a 1:01.15. Junior Abby Duncan and junior Lauren Stoeckle followed in second and third.

Stevens continued her early-season dominance by claiming victories in both the 100 back and 200 back. On Friday, the freshman touched in at 1:57.17, moving to sixth all time in school history through four career meets. She added a 54.97 in the 100 back, which is a season-best time.

Spradlin polished off the team's successful meet with a big day on Saturday. The senior finished first in the 200 breast with a 2:14.85. Ross (2:16.07) and Duncan (2:16.11) grabbed second and third respectively to complete the sweep for Mizzou. Later in the morning, Spradlin swam the team's season-best time of 4:20.16 to add a win the 400 IM.

Senior Dani Barbiea also won the 100 free in 50.12. Barbiea was a part of the three Tiger relay squads that finished first during the two-day meet.

Coming off her record-breaking performance last weekend against Missouri State, junior Lauren Reedy posted two second place finishes in the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions. She tallied 337.80 points in the 3-meter dive.

Mizzou will be idle next weekend. The Tigers return to the pool when they host the Mizzou Invite from Nov. 20-22.
