Team

  • With Mizzou's 42-13 victory at Florida, the Tigers have won eight consecutive road games. Mizzou went 5-0 on the road in 2013 and won its first two away contests of 2014 at Toledo, 49-24, and at No. 13 South Carolina, 21-20.
  • The result gives Mizzou wins at every East-Division stadium in its third year in the league.
  • Mizzou's win at UF marked the program's sixth-straight conference victory.
  • The Tigers have won two consecutive games against Florida after last season's 36-17 win at home at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field.
  • The win improved Mizzou's all-time series vs. UF to 3-1, after also taking the 1966 Sugar Bowl (20-18).
  • Mizzou recorded two defensive scores in the game for the first time since 2012, first with a 21-yard fumble return by senior DE Markus Golden and followed by a 46-yard interception return by senior LB Darvin Ruise, all in 3Q action. Mizzou's defense scored twice vs. SELA (Sept. 1, 2012) with a Michael Sam fumble return (7 yards) and a Zaviar Gooden pick-six (20 yards).
  • The two-score day for Mizzou's defense was the seventh all-time occurrence, with four coming during head coach Gary Pinkel's tenure.

Individual

  • Senior TB Marcus Murphy broke the school record for combined kick returns in a career, taking the game's opening kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown for his sixth. It was the third kickoff return for touchdown of his career, but the third longest (98 yards vs. Alabama, 2012; 100 yards vs. South Dakota State, 2014). Murphy broke a tie he shared with Jeremy Maclin (2007-08).
  • Murphy gave Mizzou its second touchdown of the 1Q on 5-yard rush at 3:50, securing the third multi-touchdown game of his career. Murphy previously scored multiple touchdowns vs. South Carolina in 2013 (2 rushing scores) and vs. SELA in 2012 (2 punt returns).
  • Murphy reset the combined kicks returned for touchdown record in 3Q action with an 82-yard punt return to the end zone, putting Mizzou up 28-0 (after a successful 2-pt. conversion) at 13:01 3Q.
  • The punt return TD set Murphy as the first in Mizzou history to rush, return a kickoff and return a punt for touchdown in a single game.
  • Junior DE Shane Ray recorded 1.5 sacks to push his season total to 9.5 through seven games. The Mizzou single-season record of 11.5 is held by Michael Sam (2013) and Aldon Smith (2009).
  • Ray's solo sack, midway through 3Q action, was a sack and strip, with the ensuing fumble picked up by senior DE Markus Golden and returned 21 yards to the end zone. The play was Golden's second career touchdown after last season's 70-yard interception return vs. Toledo.
  • Senior S Braylon Webb intercepted two passes in the win at Florida, his fifth and sixth career interceptions and also the first two-pick game of his career.
  • Junior LB Kentrell Brothers recorded the first forced fumble of his career on a sack and strip in 1Q action. The sack was the second of his career, dropping UF QB Treon Harris for five yards. The fumble was recovered by fellow linebacker Michael Scherer to give Mizzou possession at 5:11 1Q.
  • Sophomore DL Harold Brantley secured his third-straight game with a sack by dropping UF QB Jeff Driskel midway through 2Q action for a 9-yard loss.
  • Junior PK Andrew Baggett successfully hit on two field goals in 2Q action (25 yards, 8:38; 34 yards, 4:21) to secure his 10th career game with at least two successful makes.
