COLUMBIA, Mo. - After a successful first Fall 2014 tournament in Kansas City, Mo., the Tigers now head to Athens, Ga. for the Bulldog Tennis Classic. Mizzou will join host Georgia (SEC), Wisconsin (Big 10), Georgia Tech (ACC), East Carolina (American), Lipscomb (Atlantic Sun), and Armstrong State (Peach Belt) this upcoming weekend.

In the 32-player singles draw and round robin doubles tournament, Mizzou sends senior Alex Clark and freshman Brianna Lashway to this weekend's event. The tandem shined at the early Sept. 2014 Mizzou Invite, as they went 4-1 in doubles play and earned the No. 3 doubles Mizzou Invite championship. Both Clark and Lashway will compete within the singles and doubles brackets this weekend in Athens, Ga.

As the lone senior this year for the Tigers, Clark has arguably the most success in Mizzou's first tournament of the Fall 2014 season. In Kansas City, Mo., the London, England native compiled a team best overall record of 7-1. Clark earned two event titles (No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles), which included a perfect 3-0 mark in singles play.

In her NCAA debut, Lashway shined for Mizzou en route to an overall record of 6-2 against competition from Columbia, Mississippi State and Nebraska. The Bradenton, Fla. native's first career singles win came against Mississippi State's Alexandra Corder (6-2, 6-3), while her first doubles victory was over Columbia's Crystal Leung and Vivian Cheng (8-3).

This weekend's tournament will be the first of three for the Tigers in the month of October. In fact, the next three weekends Mizzou will be sending a pair of players to the respective tournaments. From Oct. 17-20, a pair of Tigers head to Stillwater, Okla. for the ITA Central Regionals, while from Oct. 24-26 Mizzou travels to Bloomington, Ind. for the Hoosier Invite.
