Bouchard, Darragh Named to Canada's Pan Pac Championships Team

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou swimming junior Mack Darragh and former Tiger Dominique Bouchard were named to the 2014 Canadian Pan Pacific Championships Team, Swimming Canada announced on Sunday. The pair were among 36 Canadian swimmers selected for the team based on their performances at the Canadian Swimming Trials in Victoria last week.

The 2014 Pan Pacific Championships will take place August 21-25 in Gold Coast, Australia. Bouchard, Darragh and their Canadian team will compete at against squads from the United States, Australia, Brazil, Japan and New Zealand in the long course event.

At the trials, Darragh finished second in the 100 breast (2:15.40), third in the 200 fly (2:00.10) and sixth in the 400 IM (4:25.06). A junior who hails from Oakville, Ontario, Darragh holds Mizzou's (short course) 200 fly (1.44.17) and 400 IM (3:45.78) records.

Bouchard, who concluded her decorated Tiger career in 2013, posted finishes of fourth in the 100 back (1:01.51) and 200 back (2:10.18) and sixth in the 50 back (29.12) at the recent trials. An eight-time All-American for Mizzou, including four first team honors, Bouchard was the NCAA Championships 200 back runner-up in 2011 and 2013 and placed third at NCAAs in 2012. The North Bay, Ontario, native holds Missouri's 100 back (52.02) and 200 back (1:50.06) marks.
