Tennis Returns Home For Three Matches This Weekend

COLUMBIA, Mo. - After nearly two months on the road, the Mizzou tennis team returns home to host three matches this weekend. On Friday, March 7, the Tigers play host to No. 7 Vanderbilt at 5 p.m. Then on Sunday, March 9, Tigers then face No. 22 Kentucky at 10 a.m. and Bradley at 3 p.m.

Missouri enters the weekend with a 4-8 overall record and an 0-2 mark in Southeastern Conference action. Last week, the Tigers went 1-2, with a 7-0 sweep over Wofford, followed by losses to No. 42 South Carolina (6-1) and No. 5 Florida (7-0). During Mizzou's match against the Gamecocks, senior Rachel Stuhlmann notched a 6-3, 6-3 win over Brigit Folland, who was ranked No. 85 in the nation.

The Commodores own a 9-3 mark overall and are 2-0 in SEC play. The squad is in the midst of a six-match winning streak, including wins last weekend over Arkansas (6-1) and LSU (7-0). Three Vanderbilt players sit in the ITA singles rankings: No. 60 Georgina Sellyn, No. 81 Courtney Colton and No. 107 Sydney Campbell.

Kentucky is ranked 22nd in this week's ITA rankings, the program's highest ranking since 2009. On the year, the Wildcats are 12-2 overall and 2-0 in league action. Last week, Kentucky opened conference play with a 4-1 win over LSU and a 4-0 sweep over Arkansas. Wildcat Nadia Ravita, the reigning SEC Player of the Week, is ranked No. 51 in the singles rankings.

The Bradley Braves own a 2-6 mark, which includes wins over Western Illinois (7-0) and South Dakota (4-2). Ariel Dechter and Ashley Thai pace the Braves with identical 5-3 records in dual match competition.
