Columbia, Mo.- Mizzou Gymnastics announced last week that senior Katelyn Trevino and junior Becca Johnson have been chosen as the 2013-14 team captains. The captains were chosen by the team and the coaching staff.

Trevino is back this season after overcoming a knee injury that she suffered at the Air Force Quad Meet last year. She remained a strong competitor in the classroom and earned a spot on the 2013 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll last season. In her sophomore year, Trevino was an asset to the Tiger program and she took home the 2012 Big 12 Championship Floor Title with a career-high 9.900 score.

Becca Johnson

Johnson is also coming off of an injury this season after having a consistent freshman season for the Mizzou squad. Johnson was a staple in the vault lineup in 2010, making her debut in the first meet of the season. Despite being sidelined last year, Johnson was also named to the 2013 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll.

In their new roles as team captains Trevino and Johnson will help promote the Championship Culture and keep their team on track for a great season in 2014.
