On tonight's game. . . .
"Obviously another tough loss for us. As disappointed as I was with our first half, I was very pleased with our second half effort. On different nights we have different players who pick and choose when to show up, and that's hard we have to put it together for 40 minutes. I thought Kyley and Morgan did a nice job for us, we really wanted to stir it up in the full court with our pressure defense. It was hard in the first half we weren't knocking down shots, and the second half we had a chance to extend our defense a little bit more and I thought that was to our advantage. Down the stretch I thought we had some open looks, a lot of situations where we were one and one on the block and had a hard time finishing, had some open perimeter looks and had a hard time finishing. Tonight we did a good job taking care of the ball and did a really good job of limiting their second chance points, but on the other end for us there was a lot of shots that seemed like they were in and out. For one reason or another tonight we struggled offensively. Tough times right now. You don't always understand why you have to go through some things you have to go through, but we'll continue to stay the course, and keep fighting and keep trying to get better."
On using the full court pressure. . .
"I think it's just game by game. We felt that Iowa State was a team that their strength wasn't handling the full court pressure. They're a great team and coach Fennelly is a great guy and a great coach. Great players: disciplined and fundamental. If there was a weakness to them, we felt that maybe it was their ability to handle the pressure. We'll take it one game at a time and do the best we can as a staff to put our players in a position to be successful."
On what she says to the players during this losing streak. . .
"You just got to stay the course. We are not quitters, they are not quitters we are just going to keep working hard. We aren't going to feel sorry for ourselves, we are not pointing fingers. If there is a player that is going to quit on this team they wont be on this roster at the end of the season. We are laying a foundation, we are building a program. There is absolutely no quit. Not if you are going to represent me, Mizzou, and our staff. We are going to continue to work hard and continue to stay the course."

Missouri Player Quotes
Freshman Kyley Simmons
On struggles during first 10 minutes of game...
"We were not getting out to the shooters. We had pressure on the ball up front but we were not getting out to 10 in the back court. She was making a lot of 3-pointers and we needed to do a better job defending her."
On playing 39 minutes of the game...
"It doesn't phase me. Going through my mind I have to push and give my team everything for the whole 40 minutes. When I'm out I have to get back in with the same energy I had at the start of the game."
On the Burden of not winning...
"Nobody likes to lose. We all hate to lose on the team. Even though we have not won a conference game, we still go in and watch film day after day to improve. There are little things that we continue to get better at each game."
Freshman Morgan Eye
On encouragement from coaches...
"Just the other day, coach told us that the scoreboard does not matter as long as we play with heart. To her that is a win so we just have to keep doing that and remember what we do well."

Iowa State Head Coach Bill Fennelly
On coming to Columbia for the last time...
"I want to thank Mizzou, on behalf of everyone at Iowa State Women's Basketball, for seventeen years of a lot of fun coming down here. The people here have always treated us with great respect, and it's always been fun to come."
On Missouri Head Coach Robin Pingeton...
"You have a hell of a coach. I know, personally, it's hard to lose, and it's hard to look forward, but Robin Pingeton and her staff are some of the greatest people I've ever met. Missouri's very lucky to have her as the coach. I spent some time with her last night, and the commitment in her eyes and in her heart for this place is amazing. Your time is coming."
On winning this game in the first five or ten minutes...
"I think probably from the seventeen-minute mark to about the ten-minute mark we got up 15-5, and we made some shots. We were pretty efficient from the three-point line. We've been a team that has defended fairly well all year, and I felt like as long as we were smart and didn't foul, we'd be good." ___________________________________________________________________________________
Iowa State Player Quotes
Lauren Mansfield
On Pressure from Missouri...
"Towards the end of the game they gave us a run for our money. I thought they came with more intensity especially towards the end of first half. They really began to press us and that got the game to start going their way."
On the team's recent wins...
"Everyone is really happy for each other it makes us start to believe in ourselves. We are becoming more confident in what we can do and we are beginning to trust our coaches much more."
On getting her shots blocked...
"Christine Flores did a great job with blocks tonight. I think that's something I definitely need to work on. When players are coming towards me I need to do the side dribble and get out of there, I will be working on that."
Chassidy Cole
On rebounding...
"I was sent out there to rebound today. I usually don't focus on rebounding. I thought I did a good job covering the ball."
