
Mizzou Completes Day One in Evanston

The Missouri Tigers wrapped up the first day of a two day meet in Evanston, ll. against Northwestern University and the University of Denver. Mizzou swimmers broke two Northwestern records, in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay and the 200 Yard Individual Medley and lead the University of Denver 80-29 and Northwestern University 61-49 .
The Missouri relay team of Cassie Cunningham, Emily Doucette, Lisa Nathanson, and Shara Stafford raced to the first place spot in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay in 1:31.67 meeting the NCAA qualifying B-standard.
The Tigers continued their dominance in relays with Mizzou taking placing two teams in the top three spots in the 400 Yard Medley Relay. The team of Dominique Bouchard, Emy DiBenigno, Stafford, and Doucette placed first in 3:43.57 while the team of Cunningham, Amanda Masters, Tasha Truscott, and Sydney Schaefer placed third in 3:49.09.
The Tigers continued to see success, sweeping the top three spots in the 200 Yard IM. Stafford placed first in 1:59.13, with Bouchard finishing second in 2:03.90, and Rachel Ripley taking third in 2:04.94. Staffords time of 1:59.13 met the NCAA qualifying B-standard.
In the 50 Yard Freestyle event Missouri swimmers had two swimmers place in the top two. Doucette came in second with a time of 23.57 and Cunningham placed third in 23.58.
The women's team also saw ruled in the diving pool. In the 3 mtr Diving event, Jordan Morcom placed second with 323.30 points and Sharon Finn finished third with 291.75 points.
