Representing her native Canada in the World University Games, Mizzou swimmer Dominique Bouchard held her own, placing fifth in the 200 backstroke and advancing to the finals in both of her other events.
The World University Games is held every two years in a different city, and includes between 12-15 college sports, open to student athletes between 17-28 that qualify.
As the youngest competitor in the 200 backstroke finals, Bouchard gave her competitors everything they could handle, placing fifth with a time of 2:11.59, less than half a second away from the gold-medal finish time. Bouchard also advanced to the 100 back final, placing eighth with a time of 1:01.74.
Teaming up with two other Canadian team members, Bouchard placed sixth in the women's 4x100 medley relay.
Bouchard, who will be a junior this year at Mizzou, looks to improve on an incredible sophomore season, in which she set a Big 12 record time and won a Big 12 Championship in the 200 back.
