
Men's Diving Wraps Up NCAAs

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Missouri men's swimming and diving team wrapped up their season this Saturday with a 22nd place finish at the 2011 NCAA Division I Championships. The trip was highlighted by two All-American finishes by freshman diver David Bonuchi.
Both Bonuchi and senior diver Dante Jones traveled to Minnesota for the top event in college swimming and diving. Competing in the platform diving event, Bonuchi notched his highest finish of the tournament, placing fourth in the nation with a score of 426.95. Dante Jones, competing in the consolation final, placed 10th with a score of 377.85.
In the 3 meter event, Bonuchi earned another All-American honor, placing eighth with a score of 374.15. Jones placed 15th in the event, scoring 342.80 points.
Jones competed in all three diving events at the championship, and placed in each one, as he took the top spot in the consolation final for the 1 meter dive with 383.30 points (ninth overall).
Overall, Missouri finished 22nd in the nation as a team at the competition, an incredible feat with only two competitors at the meet.
