Columbia, Mo. -
Hannah Lovelock fired a final round 72 to help Mizzou Women's Golf finish eighth at the 2011 Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz. The finish helped the Tigers defeat four Big 12 opponents as postseason play nears.
The 54-hole event was held at the par-72, 6,227-yard MountainView Country Club in Tucson. The 13th annual event is hosted by the University of Colorado and last year's medalist was former Tiger great Julia Potter, who logged a 3-over-par 219.
Lovelock finished tied for 23rd overall with her final round 72. She opened the tournament with a 72 as well and only a second round 77 kept the Tiger veteran out of the top 10.
Kate Gallagher also played well in the finale. The freshman shot a 73, her best performance of the weekend, to help Missouri top Nebraska, Kansas State, Kansas and Baylor.
Marissa Cook finished second for Missouri with a three-round 224 (tied for 39th), while Taylor Gohn (69-77-79--225 - tied 45th) and Nicola Race (71-80-76--227 - tied 52nd) rounded out the Mizzou scoring.
Iowa State won the event with scores of 285-284-288--857, bettering Oklahoma by six shots. Arkansas' Emily Tubert won the event by five shots. She shot a 67 in the final round to pull away from Iowa State's Prima Thammaraks.
Missouri return to action at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate April 1-2 in Oxford, Miss.
