Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri swimming and diving team will travel to Springfield, Mo. to take on Missouri State for the second time this season on November, 11 at 5:00 p.m. The Mizzou team met the Bears for the first time this season in the Show-Me Showdown where they also competed against Drury, Washington University, William Jewel, Lindenwood University, and Missouri S&T.
The Mizzou women's Swimming and Diving team face the Bears after a successful weekend tri-meet in Lexington against the University of Kentucky and Southern Illinois University. The women's team defeated the University of Kentucky 198-102 and also defeated Southern Illinois 235-65.
In the women's 400 yard medley relay, Missouri relay teams took the first and second spot. The relay team of Cassie Cunningham, Emy DiBenigno, Lexi Spivak, and Sydney Schaefer took the first with a time of 3:48.31, while the relay team of Dominique Bouchard, Courtney Rhodenbaugh, Tasha Truscott and Lisa Nathanson took the second place spot with a time of 3:48.59. In the 50 yard freestyle, Cunningham took first with a time of 23.32 while Nathanson took third with a time of 23.72.
Shara Stafford took the first place spot in the women's 200 yard IM with a time of 1:59.11, setting a school record in the process. Stafford also placed first in the 200 yard freestyle event with a time of 1:46.85. Stafford met the NCAA B-standard qualifications for both the 200 yard IM and the 200 yard freestyle.
