COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Tigers close out their non-conference schedule on Friday, Oct. 7 when the team hosts the SIUE Cougars at 6:30 p.m. at Walton Stadium.

SCOUTING SIUE
SIUE enters the contest with an overall record of 3-5-1 and a 1-3 mark in Ohio Valley Conference action.

Freshman Michelle Auer leads the Cougars with eight points on three goals and two assists this year. Senior Devon Thomas has added seven points on two goals and three assists.

Goalie Claire Lovercheck has played the majority of the minutes in goal for the Cougars and has a 1.45 goals against average and a .700 save percentage.

CLARK NAMED BIG 12 NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
Freshman midfielder Kaysie Clark was named the Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. The selection, the first of Clark's career, comes after the freshman recorded three points in games against No. 24 Texas A&M and Texas last weekend.

Clark notched the game-winning goal in Mizzou's 1-0 defeat of the No. 24 Texas A&M Aggies 1-0 on Sept. 30. Her tally in the 64th minute was the first of her collegiate career. The midfielder also assisted on Missouri's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Texas on Oct. 2.

The Liberty, Mo., native has started all 14 games at midfield for Mizzou this season. She has four points so far and 26 shots, including 12 shots on goal.

TIGERS DEFEAT TEXAS A&M, FALL TO LONGHORNS
Mizzou went 1-1 in Big 12 play last weekend as the squad earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over No. 24 Texas A&M on Sept. 30 and suffered a 2-1 loss to Texas on Oct. 2.

In front of a season high 1,224 fans against the Aggies, the fifth highest crowd in program history, freshman Kaysie Clark scored the first goal of her Missouri career and the Tigers first goal in the Big 12 this season. The goal came in the 64th minute on a Tiger counter as sophomore Danielle Nottingham played a cross into the box. Junior Taiwo Adeshigbin stepped over the ball and Clark collected it and put it home on the back post.

The Missouri defense was on top of their game throughout the contest, as senior Mallory Stipetich and juniors Allison Hu and Jessica Greer led Missouri to shutout the nation's top offense.

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper McKenzie Sauerwein notched 11 saves during the game, including a great diving save toward the end of the match to preserve the win. The shutout was Mizzou's seventh of the season.

Against the Longhorns, Missouri opened scoring in the 13th minute when freshman Kaysie Clark passed to junior Haley Krentz, who unleashed a rocket from 25-yards out.

The Tigers' goal would not be enough, however, as Texas responded with two first half goals, from Lexi Harris and Allison Smith, for a 2-1 Longhorn advantage at the half.

MISSOURI DEFENSE WITH SEVEN SHUTOUTS SO FAR THIS SEASON
MU's 1-0 shutout of Texas A&M on Sept. 30 marked the team's seventh shutout of the season. The mark ranks as the second-most shutouts in a season at MU, just behind the record 12 shutouts the 2008 squad compiled. Before the most recent shutout, the team's six were tied with the 2009, 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2002 squads for second on the list.

Goalkeeper McKenzie Sauerwein has five of the shutouts while she split the other two with Caroline Stanley. Sauerwein, Stanley and the backline of senior Mallory Stipetich and juniors Jessica Greer and Allison Huhas been stellar all season, allowing just 0.86 goals per game.

TIGERS TIE CONSECUTIVE WINS RECORD
The Tigers reeled off seven straight wins sandwiched between a 2-1 loss at San Diego in the season opener and a 2-0 loss to No. 8 Florida on Sept. 16. The mark tied the program record for consecutive wins set during the 2006 season. During that year, Missouri posted seven consecutive wins from Aug. 25 - Sept. 15.
