Mizzou seniors Hannah Lovelock and Marissa Cook played well in the final afternoon of action at the 2011 Johnie Imes Invitational as Lovelock fired a 3-over-par 75 and Cook shot 76 to help the hosts to a sixth-place finish at the fifth annual event hosted at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia.
Lovelock finished eighth overall, while Cook helped Mizzou to that upper-division finish. Lovelock, a native of Surrey, England, was steady on both days, shooting 73-72-75--220 to claim the top finish amongst the Tigers. While she competed as an individual, sophomore Taylor Gohn was steady all week as well, shooting 74-73-75--222 to tie for 10th.
Texas State (294-291-294--879) claimed the tournament championship by seven shots. Kansas State finished second with a three-round total of 886. Florida International was third at 893. Texas State's Lejan Lewthwaite claimed medalist honors. She finished her final round with a 5-under-par 67 after starting the day in sixth place.
