After throwing the program's first perfect game since 2002 on Wednesday, Thomas did it again on Saturday, tossing six innings while allowing no base runners to improve to 3-2 on the season. She faced 18 batters and struck out 15 of them, setting a new school record for most strikeouts in a non-extra inning game. Thomas' earned run average is down to 0.60 and she's struck out 57 batters while walking only five in 35.0 innings pitched.
Junior Marla Schweisberger powered the Mizzou offense, going 4-for-4 at the plate with a grand slam and six RBI. Maddison Ruggeberg collected three hits and scored three times, while Rhea Taylor, Jenna Marston and Ashley Fleming all picked up a pair of hits. The Tigers scored 11 runs on a season-best 15 hits
The Tigers put up a run in the bottom of the first on Fleming's RBI triple to right center. Taylor, who singled to start the inning, scored on the play. In the third, Marston hit her second home run of the year with one out, while Schweisberger plated two more on a single back up the middle.
Missouri added two more on Princess Krebs' two run single in the fifth. With two outs, Krebs singled to center field to score Ruggeberg and Fleming.
Mizzou completed the run rule with a five spot in the bottom of the sixth. Nicole Hudson and Marston each walked to start the inning, and Ruggeberg loaded them up with a single. A walk to Alaina Burkhart scored Hudson, and Schweisberger ended the game with her grand slam home run, the first long ball for the Tiger senior on the season.

In game two, Fleming drove in all three runs and picked up her first career save after throwing two scoreless innings. She hit her second home run of the season in the bottom of the third inning and singled in a run in the fifth, scoring Marston on both plays. In the circle, Fleming gave up just one hit and struck out one.
Kristin Nottelmann picked up the win to improve to 6-0 on the season, striking out three batters and allowing one hit in four innings. Lindsey Muller threw a scoreless fifth inning, setting up Fleming for the save.
The Tigers return to action this Wednesday, when they take on Arkansas at University Field, beginning at 3 p.m. CT.
