Missouri Ranked No. 58 in Country

March 1, 2011

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced on March 1st that the University of Missouri tennis team has been ranked No. 58 in the nation. When Coaches Steven Stuckenschneider and Helena Besovic and the team found out they were ecstatic.

The last time the Missouri Tigers were ranked was in the Final Rankings at #75 on May 22, 2009.  Initially on March 3, 2009 the Tigers were #74 and continued to be ranked every week from then on.  Missouri's highest ranking was #58 on March 24, 2009.  Mizzou has now tied that high ranking and hopes to improve in this 2011 season.

ITA (National) Rankings are formulated using the average points-per-match formula that ITA has and completed through a computerized system. ITA announces new rankings around 17 times throughout the season and it has been a few years since Missouri last held onto an ITA ranking.
