
Vote for Big 12 Athletes of the Year

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Today is the last day to vote for Missouri athletes Sarah Shire and Aaron Senne, both nominees for Big 12 Athlete of the Year. This prestigious award is given out by the Big 12 Conference to both a male and female athlete to honor their yearly accomplishments. For the second year in a row fan voting will be considered in the final selection of the 2009-10 Big 12 Athlete of the Year.
Aaron Senne has been nominated for the Male Big 12 Athlete of the Year. Senne holds a school record for career hits, and is the first player at Missouri to hit .400 since 1988. Senne was named Co-Big 12 Player of the Year and earned All-American third team honors in addition to Academic All-Big 12 and Academic All-District honors.

Female Big 12 Athlete of the Year candidate, Sarah Shire, is a four-time All-American and has earned conference gymnast of the week honors 13 times over here career at Missouri. She earned the titles of NCAA South Central Region Gymnast of the Year and Co-Big 12 Gymnast of the Year for the second consecutive year, and has won 11 all-around titles, Missouri's single season record.
Fans are encouraged to cast their votes before the end of the day to take part in the selection of the Big 12 Athletes of the Year.
