COLUMBIA, Mo. - After putting on a strong showing last week in the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championship in College Station, three Missouri women's swimmers have made the cut for the NCAA Championships at Purdue University.
Dominique Bouchard, Lauren Lavigna and Kim Jasmer will all be making the trek to West Lafayette in two weeks for the championships held at Purdue University and made the cut in five events.
Jasmer, who blew away the school record in the 100 free at the conference championships, will be competing in the 50, 200 and 500 freestyle. Jasmer finished the championships with one bronze and two fourth place finishes last week, and will look to give her best effort in the last event of her storied career.
Lavigna made the cut in the 100 and 200 back, and 500 free during Big 12's, swimming in a host of events over the four day meet, including being a part of relay teams that either broke or set new school-best times.
Bouchard is the youngest of the group and also made the NCAA Championships in the 100 and 200 back. Bouchard set a new school record in the 200 back, finishing in 1:55.16, and set a new season best time and third-best school time in the 200 IM as well.
The diving finalists have yet to be named, but will be finalized after next week's NCAA Zone Diving Championships, and the Tigers will have four participating in the Zone "D" competition including Jordan Morcom, Sharon Finn, Christina Gailey and Abby Zepeda.
The championships will begin March 19 and run through March 21.
