Divers Finish Day One In Texas

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - On day one of the 2010 Zone "D" Diving Championships, the Tigers began on a strong note led by senior Greg DeStephen's fourth place finish on the three-meter springboard Friday in College Station.
DeStephen finished one spot out of making the NCAA Championship cut in the competition, completing the event with 766.30 points on the day. Dante Jones finished eighth overall with 659.55 points for the second highest Tiger finish of the day. Dallas Becerra ended the day with 247.55 points in his first zone meet.
Abby Zepeda had the highest finish for the women divers, finishing 16th overall with 484.40 points, followed by Sharon Finn and Jordan Morcom tying for 23rd place with 233.35 points and Christina Gailey finishing in 27th place with 230.50 points.
Mizzou returns to the diving well tomorrow competing on the opposite springboards, with the men's one-meter dive competition at 11 a.m. and women's three-meter dive competition at 3 p.m.
