Missouri Basketball improved to 3-0 on the season with a 72-62 win over Wyoming in the semifinals of the 2010 Cancun Challenge. The Tigers will be searching for their third tourney title under the direction of Head Coach Mike Anderson. Missouri won the 2006 John Thompson Foundation Classic at Mizzou Arena and the 2009 Big 12 Tournament postseason crown.
The Tigers now have 57 wins over the last two-plus seasons, the 12th highest win total in all of college basketball.
Michael Dixon enjoyed a career game on Tuesday, scoring a career high 17 points thanks to a trio of three-pointers. Dixon also grabbed a career high six rebounds in the victory along with two steals.
Ricardo Ratliffe continues to improve in his first season at Mizzou and grabbed a career high 12 rebounds. Ratliffe narrowly missed his second consecutive double-double with eight points in 24 minutes.
Missouri dished 20 assists for the second consecutive game. The Tigers have topped 20 dimes 23 times the last two-plus years and are 35-1 all-time with 20 or more assists in a game.
Missouri forced Wyoming into 19 turnovers in the contest. Over the last two games Missouri has forced 53 total turnovers vs. Wyoming and North Florida.
Missouri hit a season high 10 three-pointers in the game. The Tigers had 12 total three-point makes entering the contest. Five different Tigers made at least one trey, a season best.
Missouri is known for its balance and the Tigers had nine of 10 players score at least two points.
Kim English reached double figures with 11 tallies, but he also tied a career high with five assists. English had five dimes as a freshman vs. SIU-Edwardsville.
Missouri will meet La Salle on Wednesday in the Championship Game of the 2010 Cancun Challenge. Missouri is 1-0 all-time vs. La Salle, winning 83-74 on Jan. 7, 1981, in Kansas City.
