Dear M.U. Cheerleader Candidate:
The University of Missouri Cheerleaders are an important part of the spirit and atmosphere at Mizzou. Cuts will be made during the three-day clinic only if tryout numbers are excessive. All clinics and tryouts will be held in the Hearnes Center Field House, you will enter on the East Side of the building.
Due to University policy all participants must have proof of medical insurance and proof of good physical health to participate in the tryout process. We also ask for a letter of recommendation from your high school coach. Without these requirements you will not be allowed to participate in tryout. Photocopies of original insurance cards, physical forms or doctor's statements are all acceptable.
Participants need to attend ALL FOUR DAYS of the tryout process.
For clinics and tryouts participants should dress in clothes appropriate for the activity. Baggy sweats, sweatshirt and long spandex sportswear are not advised. CLINICS AND TRYOUTS ARE CLOSED TO ANYONE OTHER THAN THOSE PARTICIPATING.
Results of the tryouts will be approved by the University administration and then posted approximately two hours after the completion of tryouts. Selected members will be required to meet later that day for an informational meeting. The meeting will last approximately one hour.
Please find above a sample ballot that should be reviewed carefully so that you understand the qualities and skills we are looking for in our University of Missouri Cheerleaders. Prospective cheerleaders will be informed of squad responsibilities and given guidelines on the first day of tryout clinics.
I look forward to seeing you at Tryouts!
Good luck and CHEERS!!!
Suzy Thompson, Cheer Coach
