Fourth Annual Johnie Imes Invitational Starts Monday

The University of Missouri women's golf team will host the Fourth Annual Johnie Imes Invitational Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 4-5) at The Club at Old Hawthorne. The 54-hole event will get underway with 36 holes on Monday. The final 18 holes are scheduled for Tuesday. Play begins at 8 a.m. on both days.

Fifteen teams make up the field for 2010, including eight Big 12 teams. Baylor, Colorado, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State join the Tigers as Big 12 teams in the event. Arkansas-Little Rock, Florida International, Illinois State, Missouri State, Princeton, Texas State and Wisconsin round out the field.

For the second-straight year, the `Birdies for a Cure' competition will help raise money for breast cancer research and awareness. Money raised will go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Click here for more information on the `Birdies for a Cure.'

Fans are invited to attend the event. The Club at Old Hawthorne, which opened in 2007, is located three miles east of Highway 63 on Route WW (Broadway).
