COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri junior Marla Schweisberger to the 2010 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 7 Second Team for her work in the classroom, as announced Thursday afternoon.  Schweisberger becomes the 16th Tiger to earn the award, and marks the fourth straight season that the Mizzou softball program has had a player selected.

Schweisberger, a psychology major, has put together a cumulative GPA of 3.30, and is one of 14 players from the Big 12 to be selected.  She is also one of five Big 12 players to be selected to the District 7 Second Team.  Schweisberger is hitting .281 on the season with nine home runs, most on the team, and 30 RBI.  Her home run against Western Illinois on Wednesday moved her into a tie for 10th all-time at Missouri with 17 career homers.

Schweisberger and Missouri will conclude the regular season with a two game series against Nebraska, beginning Saturday at Noon CT.  Saturday's game will be aired on Fox Sports Net.
