Softball Suspended Until Saturday

April 2, 2010

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri's conference home opener against No. 15 Oklahoma State has been suspended until Saturday.  The game will resume at Noon CT as a 3-3 tie in the top of the fourth.

Oklahoma State's Kelsey Anchors will be up to bat with the bases empty, facing a 3-1 count and one out.

The Tigers got the offense going in the bottom of the second, putting up three runs in the inning.  Sophomore Ashley Fleming led off the inning with a single up the middle, and advanced to third on freshman Lindsey Muller's double to left.  Junior Marla Schweisberger followed with a double of her own, plating two runs.  After moving to third on a sacrifice bunt, Schweisberger was plated on a suicide squeeze by junior Megan Christopher on a perfectly placed bunt to second.

Oklahoma State got one back in the top of the third, and tied the game in the top of the fourth with a one out, two-run home run before play was suspended.

Game two of the series will begin approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of game one tomorrow.  Stay tuned to mutigers.com for more information.
