
Sara Evans to Sing National Anthem for Nebraska Game

COLUMBIA, MO.- - RCA Recording Artist and Mid-Missouri native Sara Evans will sing the National Anthem before Mizzou's game against Nebraska on Oct. 8 at Faurot Field.
One of the most successful female artists of her generation, Evans was born in Boonville, Mo. and was raised near New Franklin, Mo. She began singing country music with her family's band when she was five-years-old and by the age of 16, Evans was singing regularly at a club in Columbia.
Evans has earned numerous accolades, including the R&R's Female Vocalist of the Year, Academy of Country Music Awards Top Female Vocalist and the Country Music Association's Video of the Year for "Born to Fly."
Her record sales have topped five million and she has been named one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People. In July, Evans sang "God Bless America" at the Major League All-Star Game in St. Louis.
The Missouri-Nebraska game will kickoff at 8 p.m. on Oct. 8. More information on the special Thursday night matchup can be found at mizzougameday.com.
