- The official attendance of 65,401 stands as Missouri's largest home-opening crowd since 1978 (73,655 against Alabama on Sept. 16).
- Missouri improved to 83-31-4 in home openers.
- Mizzou improved to 6-0 when entering the contest ranked No. 25.
- The Tigers are now 2-3 all-time against the Falcons and 2-2 in Columbia.
- The Tigers earned a victory after trailing at the half for the first time since the 2005 Independence Bowl against South Carolina. The Gamecocks led 28-14 at the break before the Tigers outscored South Carolina, 24-3, in the second half for a 38-31 Missouri victory.
- The win marked the first regular season win when trailing at the half since a 41-38 triple-overtime victory over Oklahoma State in 2001. The Tigers trailed 14-6 at the half.
- Missouri is on a school-record 12 game non-conference win streak dating back to the 2007 season. The last loss in a non-conference game came to Oregon State (39-38) in the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas. Mizzou's last non-conference loss in the regular season came to New Mexico (45-35) in 2005 at Faurot Field.
- Sophomore quarterback Blaine Gabbert completed 10-of-12 passes in the second half to finish the game 20-of-33 with 172 yards passing. He completed 9-of-10 passes when Missouri went from down 20-6 with 4:50 left in the third quarter until the Tigers went up 27-20 with 5:38 left in the fourth quarter.
- Gabbert is the first Tiger quarterback with two touchdown passes of at least 20 yards in the first two games of a season. Former Tiger Chase Daniel is the only other Missouri quarterback with four touchdowns in the first two games, which he accomplished in 2006 and 2007.
- Kicker Grant Ressel connected on 38-yard and 46-yard field goals in the second quarter to a remain perfect five-of-five for the season. The sophomore made all three of his attempts against Illinois on Sept. 5. The 46-yard field goal marked the longest of Ressel's career, besting a 44-yarder against the Illini.
- The Tigers converted 4-of-5 third downs in the second half after going 0-of-10 to start the game.
- Mizzou is a perfect 3-of-3 on fourth-down conversions this season, after going 2-of-2 against Bowling Green.
- Junior tailback Derrick Washington amassed his fourth career 100-yard game with 120 yards on the ground. He recorded at least 100 yards against Illinois, Nebraskas and Iowa State last season.
- Redshirt freshman Aldon Smith made the first start of his career against the Falcons at defensive end.
- Senior punter Jake Harry IV recorded a 69-yard punt in the second quarter for a new personal best. The punt was the longest for Missouri since Adam Crossett had a 79-yard boot against Texas A&M on Oct. 14, 2006. Harry's old career high came one week ago against Illinois when he booted a 60-yard punt.
- Redshirt freshman defensive end Aldon Smith registered his second sack in as many games when he brought down Bowling Green quarterback Tyler Sheehan for an 18-yard loss.
- Gabbert connected with senior wide reciever Jared Perry on a 27-yard touchdown pass to complete a 87-yard drive in the third quarter. It was the longest of the year for the Tigers, as Mizzou had scoring drives of 79, 75, 53, 81, 70, 74 and zero yards last week against Illinois.
