Scouting Iowa State
The Cyclones will enter the meet boasting a 6-2 record on the season. This will be their first conference meet of the year. Iowa State opened their season with a 124-72 victory over Nebraska-Omaha. The Cyclones then rallied off four straight wins, earning victories over South Dakota (189-106), Western Illinois (190.5-47.5), South Dakota State (187-55) and Northern Iowa (201-88) before dropping a meet to in-state rival Iowa by a 196-104 total. Iowa State last took the pool last weekend, when they defeated St. Olaf by a final of 186-86.
Last Time Out
Last weekend, the Tigers went up against two tough Big 10 opponents in a tri-meet, battling the No. 14 Indiana Hoosiers and the Buckeyes of Ohio State. The Tigers fell in a close match with Indiana by a score of 169-131, but took down the Buckeyes, 207-93. Freshman Kayla Durnil broke the school record in the 200 breast with a time of 2:14.88, more than three seconds better than the previous record. The split by the Tigers puts their overall record at 2-5 on the season.
