Tigers Prepared for Texas A&M

This weekend Mizzou will host Texas A&M, in a Big 12 matchup on Saturday, April 4, with game one of the doubleheader set for 2 p.m. (CT). The 11th ranked Tigers are 31-5 overall and 4-2 out of the Big 12 with a team batting average of .329 and team ERA of 1.29. Leading the Tigers offensively through 31 games is junior infielder Gina Schneider with a .356 batting average, five doubles and eighteen RBI. Also helping out offensively this year is senior Micaela Minner, a designated hitter, who is averaging .344, has seven doubles, six homeruns and 34 RBI. Helping the Tigers lead the way on the mound is freshman Chelsea Thomas with a 10-2 record and 1.00 ERA.

No. 19 ranked Texas A&M, with a record of 23-12, is headed into this match up with a recent loss to No. 22 ranked Texas (5-3). The Aggies' three most recent scheduled contests resulted in postponements, with Baylor and Kansas and a loss in extra innings to Nebraska (3-2). Leading the Aggies offensively is sophomore Natalie Villarreal with a .354 batting average, eight doubles and 16 RBI. On the mound the Aggies are lead by Rhiannon Kliesing, a sophomore, with a 14-8 record and a 1.91 ERA.

In the Big 12 lineup Mizzou split against Texas during the home matchup March 21 (6-2) and March 22 (11-6). Also in the Big 12 the Tigers triumphed against Baylor and split against Kansas, both during away games this past week.
