
Potter Repeats as Johnie Imes Champion

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou junior Julia Potter made it two for two, as she has claimed medalist honors at each of the first two Johnie Imes Invitationals. Potter, who claimed the crown in last year's inaugural Imes Invitational, won the 2008 tournament with a seven-under-par score of 209 with rounds of 67, 70 and 72. Potter's 209 total is a new school record. The previous record was 214, set by Potter at last year's Imes Invitatoinal and Maria Ohlsson at the 2004 Lady Northern Classic.
Potter finished four shots ahead of second place, Dori Carter of Ole Miss and six shot ahead of Sara Wikstrom of Arkansas -Little Rock.
Missouri finished in a tie for second in the team standings with a three-round total 902. Ole Miss won the event with a 54-hole total of 900, with the Tigers and Arkansas-Little Rock finishing in a tie for second place two shots back.
MU senior Chelsea Schriewer tied for 11th place with a three-round total of 227 (80-74-73). Junior Michelle Morgan tied for 29th spot with a 234 score, while sophomore Lindsey Haupt tied for 43rd place and Jacque Bardgett finished 67th.
The Tigers' B team finished in 14th place, led by freshman Hannah Lovelock, who finished in 23rd place in the individual standings with a 230 total. Sophomore Madison Marcolla had a three-round total of 237 (T39th place), freshman Marissa Cook shot a 250 (T68th place) and sophomore Kelsey Meyer and sophomore Lindsay Burry finished each finished with a 255 score (T78th place).
Next up for the Tigers is the Jeanie McHaney/Audrey Moreland Invitational in Lubbock, Texas on Oct. 6-7.
