- Today's game is the first ever match up between Missouri and Buffalo on the gridiron.
- Chase Daniel set a new career high with 439 passing yards, eclipsing his previous mark of 421 yards set at Colorado in 2007. Daniel also moved into third on the Mizzou single-game passing yards list, behind Kent Kiefer's 444 yards against Kansas in 1989, and Jeff Handy's school-record 480 against Oklahoma State in 1992.
- Daniel completed 36-of-43 passing attempts. That 83.7 completion percentage is the highest (min. 30 passes) in Mizzou history. The previous record was held by Daniel against Kansas last year in Kansas City (40-of-49, 81.6 percent).
- Chase Daniel is the fifth player in Big 12 Conference history to have 10,000 career yards of total offense. Daniel now has 10,356 yards in total offense, 9,592 yards passing and 764 yards rushing.
- Ziggy Hood recorded his first sack of the season in the first quarter, a loss of seven yards. Hood then recorded his second sack of the year in the fourth, a loss of five. Hood has 12.5 career sacks. Hood is now 12th all-time on the Mizzou quarterback sacks list.
- Derrick Washington's six-yard touchdown run marked the fourth time this season he has scored the first touchdown of the game.
- Missouri has scored on each of its opening drives this season, while holding opponents to punt on each of their respective opening drives.
- Ernest Jackson's 97-yard kickoff return is the first kickoff returned for a touchdown on Missouri since 1999 when Ben Kelly of Colorado took one to the house for 100 yards.
- Jeremy Maclin's 16-yard touchdown run capped the first touchdown drive this season headed by Chase Daniel that didn't include at least one passing play. The drive began at Buffalo's 23-yard line and started with a seven-yard run by Derrick Washington before Maclin's 16-yard score.
- Daniel's 8-yard pass to Andrew Jones in the third quarter served as his 16th consecutive completion, breaking a school-record 15 consecutive completions previously held by Kent Kiefer against Texas-Christian University in 1990. Daniel's 9-yard pass to Maclin marked his 20th consecutive completion and set a new Big 12 record. The previous Big 12 record was 18 and set by Seneca Wallace of Iowa State in 2001 and again by Sam Bradford of Oklahoma in 2007.
- Tommy Chavis forced his first fumble of the season, the third of his career. Hood recovered Chavis' forced fumble, his first recovery of the year, second of his career.

- Jeff Wolfert's 53-yard field-goal miss was his first miss since Illinois State last season. Prior to Saturday's miss, Wolfert had made 22 consecutive field goals, and 97 consecutive kicks overall. Wolfert has made all 140 of his PAT attempts in his career.
- Missouri's defense held UB to just 49 yards on the ground on 35 attempts. Coming into Saturday's game, Buffalo had averaged 163 rushing yards per contest.
