Haupt, Marcolla Qualify for US Women's Amateur

Mizzou women's golfers Lindsey Haupt and Madison Marcolla have qualified for the United States Women's Amateur Championship, which will be played Aug. 4-10 at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore.
Haupt and Marcolla each shot rounds of 74 on Tuesday in Sectional Qualifying play at Kansas City Country Club in Mission Hills, Kan. They are two of the seven qualifiers from the qualifier at KCCC.
Haupt, who will be a sophomore for MU in 2008-09, played in six tournaments for the Tigers in 2007-08 and finished the year with an 18-hole stroke average of 81.24. Marcolla will also enter her sophomore campaign in the fall after playing in 10 tournaments for Mizzou in 2007-08 and finishing with a stroke average of 82.21.
Stoke play for all qualifiers for the U.S. Amateur will be played Aug. 4-5. The field will then be cut to 64 for match play, which will begin on Aug. 6, leading up to the Championship match on Aug. 10.
